Our latest Betway Review for 2023 takes you trough all the details you need before deciding whether or not to sign up with one of the leading betting sites in the world.
Check out the Betway bonus, their sports betting markets, extra features including live betting. We also go through payment options for your account, support for customers and more.
Betway’s key features:
|Betway Review||Our Rating|
|Bonuses||Free bet up to $60|
Signing Up with Betway
The natural first step in our Betway review was to go through the sign-up steps to open an account.
The main Betway site offers various options; Sports, Casino, Live Casino, Vegas and eSports. You can sign up the same way for all. To open up a sportsbook account, follow these steps:
Hit the ‘sign up’ button at the top of the main site.
Choose a username and password, then enter your email address.
Type in your contact details including your mobile.
Set your daily, weekly and monthly bet limits.
Agree to the terms and conditions. Hit ‘register’ and you’re all done.
Verification may be required. If so, it won’t delay the process very long at all. As with many betting sites, you may need to upload proof of address etc. At this point, you can deposit cash and use your bet bonus.
Although we like to review everything, the focal point of our 2023 Betway review is the sportsbook bonus offer. We do review the others too.
You may find a seemingly more interesting offer at other betting sites, though we like how reasonable this one is. This is how the offer is broken down:Get a Free Sports Bet up to $60
- New customer only from New Zealand.
- $10 minimum deposit.
- First deposit is matched (up to $60).
- 1 x wagering to unlock free bet at odds of 1.75 (3/4) or bigger.
- Credit or debit cards only to count.
- Full T&Cs apply to all offers.
PayPal and other eWallets aren’t allowed when claiming the free bet. Most customers do use Visa or Mastercard however and that will count towards the sportsbook deal.
We really like this free bet promo. The 1 x wagering requirement is the fairest we’ve seen. That means that once your offer is live, you will only need to bet the same amount you were given as a bonus before being able to withdraw funds.
Remember; it is a match bonus. While $60 is the maximum, you will only receive what you put in.
If the Betway sports bonus isn’t quite what you’re looking for, why not check out the bet365 welcome bonus and see if it suits you better?
Other Betway Bonuses
During our Betway review we also found another pair of offers. As well as a casino bonus, you can also get an eSports deal, the terms of which are:
- eSports: 100% Deposit Bonus up to $60.
- New customers only, from New Zealand.
- Minimum deposit is $10.
- First deposit only matched up to $60.
- 1 x wagering requirement to unlock free bet. Odds must be 1.75 or bigger.
- Credit or debit card payments only.
- Full T&Cs apply.
Essentially then, the eSports deal is the same as the sports betting bonus. Betway offers more eSports options than the majority of betting sites, something we touch on later in the review.
This is what the casino bonus looks like:
- Casino: Up to $1000 Welcome Bonus.
- New players only.
- Opt-in is required.
- 100% match bonus on first deposit from $10 to $250.
- More bonuses available on second and third deposits.
- Maximum total bonus of $1000.
- 50 x bonus wagering requirement.
- Other T&Cs apply.
It’s normal for a casino bonus to be more expensive to claim. The 50x wagering requirement is a harsh one. Always review the full terms before you claim. Your bonus cash can be used for normal games or live casino games.
We used the main site during our Betway review, but the same menu options come up on the mobile site.
The site is very easy to navigate, intuitive too, and there are loads of betting markets. Sports we found available to bet on in our review included:
- Horse racing
- Rugby league
- Rugby union
There were a number of others listed, though there is plenty of focus on the big-hitters including football, horse racing and rugby.
We found in our Betway review that the odds on offer were generally fair, especially on horse racing, while you can also bet live. The sportsbook compared very well to other similar betting sites.
The live odds are constantly updated on the very regular tennis and football games as well as all the horse racing action.
Extra Features at Betway
During our Betway review there was plenty to catch our eye. Many sites offer customers something free just to keep them interested, without really offering much substance. That’s not the case here.
It was the Live Casino that stood out first of all in the review. Real dealers are used at real tables. All live casino games are streamed in high quality and the atmosphere is excellent.
The app is currently only for Android users. It seems that a betting app is not allowed for Betway in the store, making it Android only for now at least. The app is free to download and works very well.
We found in the review that Betway is an industry leader when it comes to eSports. Their section for this on the site is large and runs live all the time.
As well as betting on live eSports action 24/7, you can take advantage of lots of real live sports betting around the clock. Streaming is not yet available. Regardless of this, the live betting options are strong and the free bet from your deposit can be used on that action.
Payment Options at Betway
Our review found that most of the familiar banking options were available at Betway. Just remember; to get your free bet you’ll need to use a debit or credit card.
The minimum deposit is $10. Here are the available payment options:
As with other sites we review, it is free to deposit although your provider may charge. Check out what your eWallet or credit card company charges for your account.
The available withdrawal methods at Betway are:
While deposits are instant, cash-outs may take up to 24 hours to process. In most cases, they are dealt with in under an hour but may take some time to come through. eWallets should be credited within 24 hours, often instantly, while credit and debit card cash-outs may take up to three days. This is extended on weekends.
Support and Security
In any review, we like to know that customers are well treated. As such, we’ve taken a good look at support and security during our latest Betway review for New Zealand players.
There is rock-solid SSL encryption used at Betway, so your personal and financial data should never be at risk.
In holding full licensed from the MGA, Betway is free to offer its platforms in New Zealand. Whether you use the main site(s), the mobile version or the Android app, everything is secure and fully licensed.
💁🏽 Customer Support
There is a ‘help’ section and it offers tons of information right off the bat. If what you want to know is more of a general query then this page will do.
For something more specific and/or urgent, the ‘live chat’ option is best. This way, you can chat online with a knowledgeable staff member and get your answers straight away. We always prefer live chat to anything else.
We found response times to be excellent and the nature of the staff to be very polite and informative.
You may not always need to contact them however. Already available on the site is info on deposit limits, bet limits, self-exclusions and also self-assessments. Safe betting is a priority which we like.
The customer service is very good overall, though it would be better if the live chat system was just a tad easier to find.
Betway Review Conclusion
To sum up, our Betway review found this brand to be a strong player in the online sports betting world.
Most of what we reviewed was good; fair odds, strong betting markets, a nice and cheap bonus and some extra features including live betting, eSports and casino.
These are some main Betway pros and cons.
|✔️ Easy to claim bonus with low wagering||❌ Bonus cannot be claimed using eWallets|
|✔️ Solid sportsbook with fair odds||❌ App only available on Android|
|✔️Very good customer service|

Indeed, Betway is trusted by customers all over the world. Their betting sites are licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority. They can offer New Zealand customers a sportsbook, a bonus, casino games, eSports and more.

Yes. Full encryption is used so customers can feel safe about their data. Your account info will not be compromised by the site.
Yes. All deposit and withdrawal information remains secure. Withdrawing from your account is easy via the ‘banking’ section.
While both are solid betting sites, they each offer something different. bet365 is terrific for horse racing and other sports betting markets, while Betway is very strong in the eSports and casino games niche.
In our opinion, both brands have a lot to offer. However, bet365 is a slightly more elaborate platform, especially if we are talking about horse racing. On the other hand, if you prefer eSports and casino games, you might find Betway to be more to your liking.
